Hi. My name is T.J. Mount and I serve as the Pastor at here at Lisbon United Methodist Church. I am so glad and excited you found our website. I want to take the opportunity to invite you to experience the love of Christ here at Lisbon UMC. We are a great group of people who try to love each other the way Christ loves us. We are not perfect and some times we get it wrong but we are learning together and know how to love and forgive each other. So, stop on by and check us out. We gather for worship at 10:00 am.
Below is a little more about me. I have been serving as a local-licensed pastor in The Baltimore-Washington Conference of The United Methodist Church since 2015. I have been serving here at Lisbon UMC since July 1, 2021. As a pastor I am passionate about two things, making disciples of Jesus Christ and empowering the people I am called to serve. I believe that leading with love is important and strive to do so everyday.
I also am in training to become a certified professional coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). I began this process in August 2020. My approach to leadership and ministry is rooted in coaching, actively listening, asking powerful questions, evoking awareness and helping people take meaningful action. I know that I do not have all the answers and strive to empower those I serve to discover what is best for them and their relationship with God and their neighbors.
As a part of coaching, I am also a mental fitness coach with Positive Intelligence, Inc. Through this program, I help people develop an awareness of their saboteurs, those pesky voices in their head, and how to move from a place driven by fear and judgment to the Sage, a place driven by ease and flow. For me, this program is an important part of discipleship and become more like Christ.
I also serve the Baltimore-Washington Conference in several positions. I am a member of the Leadership Development Board and I am on the leadership team of the Living Well Clergy Retreat program.
Again, I am excited that you have found us online and I hope that I have an opportunity to share the love of Christ with you in the near future. This journey we call life is hard but we don’t have to do it alone.
I love you!
Pastor T.J. Mount
