Hi All!

Welcome to the Monday Brief, a weekly newsletter aimed at providing information to help us stay connected and engaged.

If you would like to meet, please let me know by email, phone call (202.420.1171), a note in the offering plate, smoke signals, or in person—and we can set up a time to get together.

Sermons & Stories

    1. How have I experienced God’s Spirit stirring within me, leading my mind and heart toward renewal?
    2. In what ways do my thoughts and desires shape the actions my body carries out each day?
    3. Where is God calling me to bear tangible fruit—such as kindness, patience, and peace—in my relationships so that heaven touches earth through me?

Plans & Possibilities

Training Tuesdays This is an online conversation to help local churches. It is free! Oct 7’s topic is How to Reach and Welcome New People.I would love for a bunch of us to check this out and see if any of the ideas apply to Lisbon.

Doing and Discovering

Lisbon Elementary Food n Fun is every second Thursday of the month. There are three ways we can help out each month (sign-ups are in the narthex of the church)

  1. Make cookies
  2. Help serve at the school (4:30-6:30)
  3. Donate tissues & hand sanitizer (the school has mentioned to me many times they are in constant need of these two items)

Cares & Concerns

Please pray for these concerns shared in worship yesterday:

  1. Andy (Tim Grove’s Brother) – surgery this Wednesday
  2. Debbie O. (Glenwood Middle School) – heart attack
  3. Bob & Sandy S. – health and assistance

______________

May God grant you the grace to present your life as a living sacrifice,                                                                                                                                                                      holy and pleasing, rising each day to overcome evil with good.

May the Spirit guide your heart in the way of peace, that you may do no harm but only bless.

Until we meet again, may Christ’s love guard your steps, may mercy shape your choices, and may hope lead you into every new day.

Go in peace, to love and serve the Lord.  Amen!

Grace & Peace,

Pastor Bryan
